Sofia Kourou

Sofia was born in Athens in the 1990s. In recent years, she has been actively involved in cinema, exploring new narrative techniques and the connection between cinema and the visual arts. She graduated from the Theater Studies Department at the School of Fine Arts and received a scholarship to study film at Cine Studio in Paris. She is also a graduate of the ‘Delos’ Drama School and participated in research on physical theater at the Grotowski Institute in Poland. She has directed the short films “Neuilly Drive” (Cine Studio Paris, 2024) and “Passions-Planet-Touch” (Thessaloniki Film Festival, 2020). She’s currently working as an assistant director on the documentary “It’s a Balancing Act” (BBC, pre-production 2025) and on Lima Julha’s documentary about Anita Avakian (Paris, 2024). As an actress, she has appeared in numerous films, including “Blessing in Disguise” (Greece, 2023), “Was Is Will Be” (Paris, 2024), and “The Grief That Will Remain” (Greece, 2023).
