Piano for Two

Piano for Two is an international piano duo based in Athens. The duo brings together two renowned pianists: Beata Pincetić and Christos Sakellaridis. Partners in life and in art, they have been playing together since 2003, impressing audiences and critics with their musicality and virtuosity.

Beata and Christos met when they were both studying at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. They have played a great number of concerts both in Greece (at Onassis Stegi, the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, the Greek National Opera Alternative Stage) and abroad (in Croatia, England, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Cyprus, et al.). They have also participated in international festivals including the Sani music festival, the Open Days festival, and the Ledra International Chamber Music Festival.

The duo’s goal is to bring the expressive riches of classical music to a wider audience and to young people in particular. Choosing their programmes with care, they build bridges between past and present, the known and the unknown.

Piano for Two has a special relationship with contemporary classical music. They frequently collaborate with composers from Greece and beyond and have premièred a great many works, many of which were written for them.

They have recorded for Greek and Croatian state radio and the European Broadcasting Union. Their extremely well-received CD “20th century music for two pianos” was recorded with sponsorship from the Onassis Foundation.

Beata Pincetić is from Croatia. She is a graduate of the Zagreb Music Academy and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music.

Her repertoire includes works for solo piano and chamber music. Her love of contemporary music has given her the opportunity to collaborate with a number of award-winning composers and to participate in international festivals (Dubrovnik Music Festival, ICMC 2014, Open Days at Onassis Stegi, and elsewhere).

Christos Sakellaridis was born in Athens. A graduate of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, he was an Onassis scholar. He is a member of the Ergon Ensemble, which specializes in contemporary music, is professionally involved with music technology, and has written music for ballet, the cinema and video art.
