Nikolaos Karalis

Nikolaos Karalis holds a PhD in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has graduated from the Schools of Mechanical Engineering and Mining and Metallurgical Engineering of the NTUA. He obtained a master's degree (MSc) in "Design and Construction of Underground Works" and a doctorate (PhD) in the field of nanomechanics. For his doctoral dissertation, he received a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation and the Special Account for Research Funding (ELKE) of the NTUA. He has been distinguished and awarded for his studies, with a Silver Medal for being the 1st graduate of the School of Mechanical Mining and Metallurgical Engineering (2007) and the Thomaidion Award for a publication in an international scientific journal (2014).

He has studied music, obtaining a degree in piano and a specialty degree in harmony. His professional experience includes research and design of mechanical systems and application development. His interests are travel, photography, running, hiking, swimming, and music.
