Neny Pervanidou

Neny Pervanidou is the Professor of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). Since 2007, she has been Head of the Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Unit of the First Pediatric Clinic of the NKUA at Choremeio Research Laboratory, Agia Sofia General Children’s Hospital.

Her doctoral thesis focused on post-traumatic stress of children and teenagers at the First Pediatric Clinic of the NKUA. From 2018 to 2019 she was a Visiting Fulbright Scholar at the “Mood, Brain, and Development Unit” of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), MD, USA. She is a regular member of the international Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SDBP).

Since 2008, she has been a founding member of three scientific societies. Dr Pervanidou has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and post-graduate level, and has organized more than twenty conferences and educational seminars.

Her research and clinical interests include child development and behavior, neurodevelopmental disorders (such as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD), and neurobiology of stress in children and teenagers. Her extensive list of publications includes 72 articles in foreign, peer-reviewed journals – impact factor 230.391.
