Matthew Rader
Matthew Rader is one half of the New York based creative duo Reed + Rader, alongside Pamela Reed. Originally from Ohio and Pennsylvania, joined forces in the early 2000s and have since directed films, GIFs, and experiences set in virtual worlds. Their work is fun, colorful, and wild, inviting viewers to escape into magical realms where cats can be ridden and dinosaurs dance. They are widely recognized for helping to establish the GIF as a commercial and editorial photographic medium in the 2000s. Matthew and Pamela are parents to six cats and three humans (Enceladus Seven, Proxima Eleven, and Europa Twelve), enthusiastic basketball fans, and weekend farmers. They live in Brooklyn, NY.
Matthew also teaches virtual production and motion capture at New York University and Pratt Institute, guiding the next generation of artists in using real-time tools, green screen compositing, and LED walls.
