Hardi Kurda

Composer, sound artist, researcher, and improviser Hardi Kurda is founder of Space21 Festival in Slemani, Iraqi Kurdistan. Hardi uses the radio to explore spectrum frequency as sound material to question the social and political order. He develops pieces in which music interacts with different art forms in new art spaces, to create new listening experiences using found scores – a new listening medium he develops from everyday materials. His works were presented in Blech Gallery and Radio Corax (as part of the radio art residency in Halle), Irtijal Beirut, Adapter ensemble MaerzMusik Berlin, Sound-Place exhibition in London, ensemble recherché in Freiburg, and John Heartfield found footages organized by ADK in Berlin.
