Elias Roumeliotis

Elias Roumeliotis is an award-winning screenwriter, as well as a director, actor, and animator. From 2003 to 2024, he has written scripts for short films, comedy sketches, as well as concepts for music albums, music videos, comic strips, and mini stand-up monologues. In 2013, he wrote the script for the feature film “A Gospel According to Life,” in which he also played the leading role.

In 2017, he wrote the screenplay for the multi-award-winning animated short “From the Balcony,” produced by Ioanna Soultani (Soul Productions), which received the 1st Pitching Award at the Drama International Short Film Festival. The film was completed in 2020, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival, and has since received 22 awards. Among them, Roumeliotis won Best Screenplay awards at the Athens International Film Festival, SocialMed Valencia (Spain), and Across The Lake (Dojran, North Macedonia).

He is a co-founder, writer, and one of the actors of the comedy troupe “Mourga,” which was part of the ComedyLab network during its active years.

As a lyricist, since 2004, he has written lyrics and musical scripts for six albums by the satirical music group TRI.P.A. Since 2013, TRI.P.A. has been part of Imiz Biz Entertainment, the record label of Imiskoumbria.

Since 2020, together with Aris Kaplanidis, he has been exclusively involved in animated fiction for film, television, and the internet, working as an animator, screenwriter, and director at BrosInArts Animation Studios. They also conduct animation workshops for high school students in collaboration with the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People.

He is currently working as a screenwriter, director, and animator on the animated feature documentary “Women of Asia Minor,” produced by Ioanna Soultani (Soul Productions), co-produced by the Greek Film Centre, ERT, and the Ministry of Culture of Cyprus, in collaboration with the Centre for Asia Minor Studies.
