Andrea Gatopoulos

Andrea Gatopoulos is a film producer and director, member of EFA, and alumnus of Berlinale Talents and Locarno Spring Academy. He has studied in workshops with Werner Herzog, Radu Jude, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. His film productions were featured in more than 150 festivals around the world, including Cannes (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs), Locarno, Venice (Settimana Internazionale della Critica/Film Critics’ Week), Camerimage, and IFFR. His short film “Happy New Year, Jim” premiered in Cannes during the 54th edition of Quinzaine des Réalisateurs. In 2023, he took part in Locarno Spring Academy with Radu Jude, where he shot “Eschaton Ad.” In November 2023, his debut feature documentary “A Stranger Quest” screened at the 41st Turin Film Festival, followed by the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and others. In 2024, his short “The Eggregores Theory” opened Venice IFF’s Film Critics' Week and received the Onassis Film Award at the “Opening Nights” – Athens International Film Festival.
