Spring is finally here at Onassis AiR with a publication on public space, a workbook about the art world and a scheduled show on movement radio
With Spring gradually settling in, we find ourselves in a state of wakefulness that requires our raised awareness, our accountability and care.

These are three core elements we have been carefully inserting in our daily research and practice in and out of the Onassis AiR house, and will accompany us throughout the next iteration of The School of Infinite Rehearsals (Movements V-VIII), that will run between September 2021 and June 2022. Having received more than 450 applications from all around the world, the peer-to-peer selection is currently in progress by the previous participants of Onassis AiR, and we look forward to announcing the 24 participants of Movements V-VIII in late June, who will explore the structures that affect the ways we live, act and come together, through a collective research on issues of governance (self-organization & institutions) and economies (community economies & philanthropy).

We are very happy to announce the first Onassis AiR publication; ALL DAY ALL NIGHT is a publication created and edited by Laure Jaffuel, published by the Onassis Foundation, in collaboration with DOLCE. Dealing with the subject of the public space in Athens, the book is the outcome of a research during The Critical Practices Program at Onassis AiR, in Spring 2020. While the research period overlapped with the strange times of the global pandemic and the lockdown in Greece, the notion of public space became even more urgent to address.
ALL DAY ALL NIGHT is like an allegory, a meta-fiction, a scenery, a public event we’ve heard about. It aims to propose an ontological approach on public space and social commons in the city of Athens, intentionally adopting a social, poetical, and fictional posture to explore a political and critical subject. The publication is conceived as a collaborative platform aiming at opening up the conversation on ever-evolving questions—what a public space is and how to live together in the city. Addressing the subject of public space could not be a monologue, “it should feel like an exceptional party.”
“They say the city never sleeps, but neither do we. The endless rhythm of Athens and its constant activity make everything possible. All day, all night. 24/7."

We are also excited to share with you the publication of RESHAPE: A Workbook to reimagine the Art World. The Workbook is the result of our multi-year collaboration with researchers and practitioners in the cultural field from across Europe and South Mediterranean on new organizational models and alternative ways of working, within the framework of RESHAPE.
The tangible results of this process are presented in the form of Prototypes, proposals that reflect and provoke the transformation of the artistic sector, towards more equitable and more sustainable methods and ways of working presented in various formats: a game, a collection of rituals, a house, a shape-shifting department, a multitude of questions, a call for action, and many others. Find out more about all the Prototypes here.
The RESHAPE project was funded with support from the European Commission. This publication reflects the views only of the authors, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use that may be made of the information contained therein.
