What is For Ever More Images?

In 1977, spaceships Voyager I and ΙΙ took off to space, carrying a series of audiovisual archives, named “Golden Records”. These archives were thought to be a message to potential outer galactic recipients, or, at the very least a time-capsule for the future, aiming to code and share the experience of human existence and the milestones achieved on planet Earth.

Can you write history with a snapshot? 40 years after the “Golden Records” mission, what would you choose to send in your time-capsule?

Thousands of photos from our past and present are compiled in an ocean of diverse images, from everyday snapshots to history defining moments, from private photos to world-shattering news, from people to landscapes and objects. Viewers will have the opportunity to make their own personal time-capsules which can be accessible through a web platform.

The project “For Ever More Images?” is an exhibition, an interactive cybermachine that creates a series of time-capsules, as well as a series of talks and educational workshops which invite you to examine the way you produce, perceive and interpret the images of the 21st century.

*All the material that you will upload on Instagram under the hashtag #forevermoreimages belongs to you or you have obtained all necessary IPR or licenses. By using the hashtag you allow us to harvest the material and publicly display it at the For Ever More Images? exhibition as well as store it in the TimeCapsule Archive which will be made available to the public through www.cybermachineofimages.gr.

Submission deadline of photos on March 22 at 16:00.
