Open Call | Circular Cultures Design School 2026

Rituals of Industrial Memory

Onassis ONX and the British Council return with the third edition of Circular Cultures Design School 2026, inviting creative professionals and businesses to explore the cultural, social, and material legacies of industrial zones and histories.

CCDS 2026 – RITUALS OF INDUSTRIAL MEMORY

Starting from the theme “Rituals of Industrial Memory” and the new Onassis ONX studio in the Onassis Stegi’s industrial space, Onassis Ready, this year’s program explores how memory, place, the remnants of production, and forgotten technologies continue to shape the present. The Circular Cultures Design School 2026 program will take place as part of ONX.Showcase.Athens.2026, from May 22 to 25 at Onassis Ready, moderated by Hana Omori, creative lead of Keiken.

The program is inspired by Onassis Ready and its neighborhood, an area defined by flows, natural and artificial, logistics, warehouses, informal markets, abandoned or transformed buildings, environmental pressures, and small everyday practices of survival, transaction, and reuse.

With the central theme “Rituals of Industrial Memory,” CCDS 2026 focuses on the cultural, social, and material legacies of industrial sites and histories, and invites participants to examine how memory, place, labor, the movement of goods, infrastructure, and the remnants of production continue to influence the present.

Through an intensive four-day program combining workshops, field research, and the exchange of methodologies for artistic and design research, participants will develop and present a new artistic proposal.
