Visual Dialogues 2013

In honor of the Year of Cavafy in 2013, Onassis Stegi invited the public into Plato’s Academy Park to wander around digital works of art created by contemporary Greek and international artists, pieces concerned with the ancient Greek modes of thought that pervade the work of C. P. Cavafy. A journey through art works created using new technologies that negotiate ancient Greek concepts that appear in Cavafy’s poetry.

The Cavafy Archive was acquired by the Onassis Foundation at the end of 2012. In 2019, the Onassis Foundation released the Cavafy Archive Digital Collection, making the entire contents of the archive openly available and freely accessible to all, with the aim of further extending the reach of the poet’s work and highlighting the international nature and appeal of his poetry. A dive into this digital archive brings us closer to his oeuvre, and allows us to uncover particular moments in his life. Discover the Cavafy Archive Digital Collection here.
