This award-winning short documentary unveils stories that are neither only Albanian nor Greek – but both Albanian and Greek.

At a time when identity wars are raging around the world and, of course, in Europe and the Balkans, Ilir Tsouko’s camera sheds light on multiple identities not as burdens of history, but as compasses pointing toward a better future. The children and grandchildren of Albanian immigrants from the 1990s were born and are raised in Greece. Denisa, Dimitris, Stefania, and Orestis share their experience on camera. Not the experience of immigration itself, but their own stories. Stories that are neither only Albanian nor Greek but both Albanian and Greek. A new sense of belonging, pure and hopeful, emerges from this generation.

As of July 13, 2026, the documentary “ALBGREKO,” directed by Ilir Tsouko and produced by Onassis Culture, is available to stream on the Onassis Channel on YouTube.

The aftertalk of "Bull’s Heart" at the Onassis Channel on YouTube

How do you make a film about the creation and international tour of a work by Dimitris Papaioannou? What kind of portrait did Eva Stefani envision for one of Greece’s most acclaimed artists, and what pieces did she draw on to bring it to life? And, ultimately, what does the road to a performance that almost never happened look like?

Turning her camera on Dimitris Papaioannou, Eva Stefani follows the inception and trajectory of "Transverse Orientation" step by step as the show travels to different theatrical stages around the world. For two years, her camera captured scenes from the rehearsals at the Onassis Stegi during the pandemic, as well as performances in Paris, London, Vilnius, and other international destinations, leading to the last show in San Francisco.

As of July 13, 2026, the discussion following the screening of "Bull’s Heart" at Onassis Stegi, featuring filmmaker Eva Stefani, artist and director Dimitris Papaioannou, and Onassis Foundation Artistic Director Afroditi Panagiotakou, is available to stream at the Onassis Channel on YouTube.
