Beware of the Dogs

Video Installation

Description

The artists describe their work as “uncanny, absurd, lo-fi, and childish,” reflecting the complexity of their thoughts surrounding a daily encounter with a bull terrier. As students at Chelsea College of Arts in London, they would pass by the same dog every day, living in a typical British yard. Each morning, they exchanged glances—yet they could never quite grasp what the dog was thinking. The phrase ‘Be aware of the dogs’ is something we often hear from others, but the artists suggest that dogs, like everyone else, truly need our friendship, companionship, tolerance, and collaboration. Even after all these years, they still cannot fully explain the origins or motivations behind the work.
