Aggeliki Kathariou

Mezzo-soprano Aggeliki Kathariou gave a series of successful performances both in Hellas and abroad. Within the framework of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra tour in France and Spain, she was invited last summer to the International Piano Festival of la Roque d’Anthéron and performed works by Igor Stravinsky, Miguel Galvez-Taroncher, and Maurice Ohana, accompanied by the pianist Jean Claude Pennetier under the conduction of Roland Hayrabedian. In August, she participated in the International Music Festival of Cyclades, housed at the Apollon Theatre in Hermoupolis, Syros.

Accompanied by the scholar pianist Dionysis Malouhos, she interpreted Bizet, Tosti, Nin, Ravel and Weil. Furthermore, in May 2005 she held the leading part of "Dina" in the Hellenic premiere of Leonard Bernstein’s opera ‘Trouble in Tahiti’, under Yorgos Michailidis’ stage direction and Theodoros Antoniou’s conduction.

Finally, Aggeliki Kathariou has recently interpreted the ‘Oïkouménê’ of Jean-Christophe Marti; her performance was on live broadcast by the French television (France 3 Méditerranée) for the “Demain en Méditerranée Multiplex” show.
