Grigoris Vardarinos

Grigoris Vardarinos was selected as a scholar on the innovative "START – Create Cultural Change" programme run by the Robert Bosch Foundation in collaboration with the Goethe Institute of Thessaloniki and Bundesvereinigung Soziokultureller Zentren e.V. (the German Federal Union of Socio-Cultural Centres).

START – Create Cultural Change consists of two successive, competing stages: an initial "job shadowing" stage in Germany and then a project implementation phase in Greece. The aim is to enable START scholars to transform their innovative idea into a real cultural initiative and acquire professional skills to develop that initiative into a viable, creative enterprise.

Grigoris Vardarinos graduated cum laude in Film and TV Studies from NYU. He also holds a M.A. in Cinema Direction from the University of Edinburgh's School of Fine Arts, where he studied on an Onassis Foundation scholarship. He has directed a series of award-winning documentaries and short films in partnership with ERT, OTE History channel and the Greek Film Centre. Intrigued by how art and society intersect, he focuses on quality artistic creations that have a social aspect and positive impact.
