Konstantinos Sergakis

Having been appointed recently lecturer in Law at the University of Bristol law school, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Konstantinos Sergakis will take office in early August 2013. This success follows the recent publication of his book entitled "The Transparency of Listed Companies in EU Law" from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Bibliothèque de l'Institut de Recherche Juridique de la Sorbonne- IRJS Éditions), which has met already a considerable success in France. His book has already received the prestigious prize Prix Solennel André Isoré award by the Chancellerie des Universités de Paris as well as a Special Grant from the Onassis Foundation.

Konstantinos Sergakis started his academic career at the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre la Défense in France and then continued to the University of Bedfordshire in the UK where he also became the Director of the LLM in International Commercial Law. Moreover, he was recently appointed Affiliated Scholar of the prestigious Centre for the Law of Business and International Trade (CDACI) of the University of Montreal, Canada.

His research interests are related to Corporate Law, EU Financial Law and Corporate Governance. He has participated in numerous international conferences and publishes regularly articles in English and French internationally renowned academic journals. Moreover, he has recently organised an International Conference on Corporate Governance issues, which will be held on the 20th of June.

He holds an LL.B from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and LL.M in International Business Law from University College London and a Ph.D from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He has received grants both for the LL.M and the Ph.D from the Onassis Foundation.
