Myrsini Margariti

Soprano, Myrsini Margariti, was chosen from among thirty candidates following a competition for a soloist position at the Halle an der Saale Opera in Germany where she will remain until the end of the 2008 season. The city of Halle an der Saale is the birthplace of the composer, Handel, a fact that makes the city one of the most important musical centres in Germany. This city also hosts the renowned International Handel Festival in which the young soprano will also be taking part.

Another of Myrsini Margariti’s important accomplishments was her appearance in the role of Serpetta in Mozart’s “La Finta Giardiniera” at the Landestheater Salzburg in Spring 2006 as part of “Mozart Week”.

She also appeared in Mozart’s well-known opera, “Don Giovanni”, in the role of Zerlina at the Republic Theatre in May 2006. The opera was co-produced by the University Mozarteum Salzburg and the Municipality of Salzburg in the context of Mozart Year 2006.

Also worth noting is the concert featuring works of Theodorakis that the soprano performed with pianist, Dimitris Ktistakis, in Saarbruecken, Germany on 27 January 2006. The concert was a celebration of the composer’s 80th birthday and elicited top reviews.
