Rosemarie Kipraiou

The soprano Rosemarie Kipraiou participated in the celebratory concert organized by the Greek community in Germany, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the death of Maria Callas. The Hellenic–German cultural association Kinisi, in cooperation with the Greek communities of Neu Isenburg and Frankfurt, presented a series of events during May 2007, that were concluded with a great concert in the Hugennottenhalle, dedicated to the most important roles performed by the Greek diva.

The scholarship holder gave renditions of the aria Casta Diva from Bellini’s Norma, and the aria from Kalomiri’s opera Protomastoras. Rosemarie Kipraiou also gave a recital, in the context of the Smyrna Festival, together with Turkish tenor Ayhan Uştuk and pianist Tsemila Khabarova, of works by Mozart, Verdi, Lehár, Puccini and Tsilea.

Rosemarie Kipraiou has a Diploma in piano and a degree in Harmony. She received a Diploma in Monody from the Athens Conservatory with a unanimous grade of Excellent and a monetary prize in the memory of conductor Alexandros Symeonidis. She studied Phonetics in Berlin next to Norma Sharp, Karen Armstrong and Lorne Richstone.

She has appeared in many renowned music halls and has participated in a number of festivals in Greece and abroad. Her discography work includes participation in the album Oneirogenima by G. Boukanos, presented at the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2006, as well as her recent collaboration with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation-ERT.
