Last December, Panayiotis Gogos performed a piano recital in Konzerthaus, Vienna. The recital included the exquisite 24 Preludes by Chopin, Mozart’s Fantasy, an extremely dramatic work, and Moonlight Sonata, Beethoven’s most romantic composition out of the 32 sonatas he composed. The pianist performed the same programme last November at the concert hall of the Hellenic Center in London.
Panayiotis Gogos has studied piano, counterpoint and fugue, at the Philarmonic Music Society of Patras. In 2001 he won first prize at the national piano competition for young pianists X.O.N. in Athens. With a scholarship by the Onassis Foundation, he continued his piano and chamber music studies at the Conservatory of Toulouse. In 2005, he received the Mikoniou award by the Academy of Athens.
This season, he has scheduled a series of concerts, in Rome, Berlin, Vienna, Athens, to mention but a few, while he has also been selected to participate in the celebration for 2010 Chopin Year in the Chopin Fridiric Salon of the Polish library in Paris.
