Zoe Zeniodi

The conductor Zoe Zeniodi brought this year’s season to a close with her début at the famed Carnegie Hall in New York, conducting the New England Symphonic Ensemble on 16 April. Just prior to that concert she was in New Mexico conducting the opera ‘I Pagliacci’ at Opera Southwest, and was in fact the first woman to ever take the podium there. During the course of the season she was chosen among 156 women by Dallas Opera to take part in the Institute of Women Conductors: as part of this event which will last several years, Zoe Zeniodi will have the chance to collaborate with a host of opera houses. She has already conducted one concert at Dallas Opera and taken part in a workshop at San Francisco Opera.

Recently, the conductor also visited Vietnam where she conducted the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and has also held concerts in Greece with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Greek National Opera and the Camerata Orchestra. She also gave a voice and piano recital with the soprano Myrsini Margariti at the Theoharakis Foundation, and on the Greek classical music radio station, the Third Programme. Zoe Zeniodi’s future plans include touring with the Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra and a series of concerts in Greece, the Czech Republic and America.
